What if a game forced you to choose between life and death? In Saw, two men, Adam and Dr. Gordon, wake up trapped in a dirty bathroom, with no memory of how they got there. They quickly realize they’re part of a twisted game set up by a mysterious killer, known only as Jigsaw, who forces people to face terrible challenges to survive.

A key moment in the film is when Dr. Gordon has to decide whether to follow Jigsaw’s rules or break them to save himself. What if he had made a different choice? Could the game have ended differently for him and Adam?

Fans have many What If theories—what if the entire game was a set-up for someone else? Some wonder if there’s more to Jigsaw’s backstory that explains why he does what he does. Others question how many people might be working for him behind the scenes.

An alternate ending could show Adam escaping the trap, or Dr. Gordon finding a way to stop Jigsaw’s twisted plans for good. A prequel might explore Jigsaw’s early life, explaining how he became the monster behind the games. Saw leaves fans with an unsettling feeling, but also a sense of satisfaction, knowing the mystery will never be fully solved.
